About

Welcome to She Rocks Fitness!

She Rocks Fitness was started by me (Katie Uhran)! I am a runner, yogi, cyclist, strength trainer, and healthy chef who works hard, plays hard, and enjoys life to the fullest. I believe you don’t have to give up the things you love to achieve your fitness and health goals. It’s about balance. moderation, and learning about what works for you and your body. It takes time, patience, and work, but the benefits of living an active and healthy lifestyle are worth the sweat and tears. I’m here to train, educate, and support you on your fitness journey. I love what I do and that’s why I’m here to help all of you achieve your goals!

It took me a while to get where I am a today, but I have learned a lot over the years from traveling, working in corporate, and meeting so many amazing friends along the way. It all started after college,  when I moved out West to pursue my passion for skiing and my love of outdoor adventures. I lived in San Diego for 3 years and Denver for 7 years. While out West, I competed in triathlons, bike races, and running events. For a while I worked in the corporate world and was never truly happy. I hated sitting behind a desk and staring at a computer all day. So when I was laid off, a few years ago, I knew it was time to pursue my passion! I became a certified personal trainer and then also decided to become a certified yoga instructor from Om Time in Denver, CO. Both of these certifications required a lot of studying, time, and practice, but changed my life in so many ways.

I moved back to New Jersey over a year ago, to be closer to my family, friends, the ocean, and to pursue my passion. It was a big move, but it was the right move and I am so happy to be back.

So this is me, my story, my company, and my dream! Enjoy!

Thanks Lacey! I am so glad you have decided to “follow your bliss” as well. Life is too short to be miserable and not do the things that you are passionate about. Congrats to you and all of your success and cannot wait to follow you as well. Here’s to strong, beautiful, and confident women who go out on their own in whatever profession they love. :)

Hi Katie! Just stumbled across your blog and will be adding it to my Reader asap! :)

Love your story. I currently work full-time sitting at a computer and I dread it everyday. After the holidays I want to start working towards my CPT and was wondering if you recommend NASM or NSCA?

I have narrowed it down to those two programs but am hearing different takes from everyone. Thanks :)
